Unity’s Fall Showcase will be held this Friday, November 4th at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Come out to see Vocal Rush, Surreal Sound, and a variety of solos from our own student body.
Special guests Mr. Reed, Ms. Jablonski, and Mr. Heist will be performing at the Fall showcase.
There will also be a basket raffle with great prizes.
Students: Don’t forget about Student Council’s Thanksgiving Food Drive now through November 10th. During your 1st hour, you should have been given the details. Any questions, please find a Student Council member or Mrs. Meyer. Let’s make this year’s food drive the best one yet!
Just a reminder seniors November 1st is Illinois State University and University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign early action application deadline.
Congratulations to Olivia Shike on placing 1st in the national FFA Agriscience fair contest with her social science project on Generation Z meat preferences. Congratulations to the FFA ag sales team on their 9th place finish in the national contest. Hunter Shike placed 12th and earned a gold rating and Olivia Shike placed 48th nationally.
Anyone interested in playing boys basketball should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday morning in Coach Reeds room at 8 am. Questions see Coach Reed.
The Boys Cross country team ended their season with a great showing at the sectional meet on Saturday! Of the 7 runners, 4 ran lifetime bests! The 4 boys who ran lifetime bests were Eli Crowe with a 16:28, Camden Fairbanks with a 16:53, Isaac Ruggieri with a 17:39, and Alex Mowrer with a 17:52. Brendan Graven placed 47th by running 3 miles in 17:00. Thank you Brendan for everything you did for the team this season!
The Girls cross country team placed 7 runners in the top 25 on Saturday to win the Sectional. Leading the Rockets was Emily Decker in 5th, Mackenzie Pound in 6th, Erica Woodard in 7th, Olivia Shike in 10th for All-Sectional Honors. These four were closely followed by Raegen Stringer in 14th, Cami Reedy in 18th, and Josie Cler in 25th. The team will compete for the State Championship on Saturday at 9 AM in Peoria at Detweiller Park.
Unity Girls’ basketball will have tryouts today and tomorrow from 3:10-5:30 at the Rocket Center. You must attend both days.
