To all my budding Rocket Scientists, there will be a Science Olympiad information meeting during activity period on Wednesday, September 18 in Mrs. Anderson's room. Come strut your stuff and flaunt skills to help us make it back to State!
Unity is starting a new club called Teen Titans. Teen Titans is a friendship club with activities throughout the school year for students with and without disabilities. This club aims to make Unity more inclusive for all students, one friendship at a time. If you are interested in making a difference while having fun, please pick up an application in the Guidance office. If you have questions about Teen Titans, please see Ms. Zummo, Ms. Kuetemeyer, or Mr. Behrends.
The pep club meeting this Wednesday will be officers only 8 am in room 4.

Congratulations to Emily Decker for her 5th place finish out of 424 runners at the First to the Finish Invitational on Saturday at Detweiller Park. Emily's time of 17:48 matches the 3rd best in Unity history. Mackenzie Pound finished 23rd, Ashlyn Denney 41st, Josie Cler 96th, and Grace Wherley 104th, giving the Rockets a 5th place team finish out of 40 teams.
The boys’ cross country team had a great showing this weekend at PBL placing 2nd as a team. Eli Crowe won the varsity race with a lifetime PR of 15:58 and Camden Fairbanks got 2nd with a lifetime PR of 16:01. Collin Graven placed 13th with a PR of 17:03. Carter Tiemann and Ryan Akers both ran seasons bests placing 20th and 22nd respectively. In the open race, freshmen Lincoln Johnson, Carson Fairbanks, and Andrew Donovan all ran PRs, placing 3rd, 4th, and 14th respectively. The boys will be racing again on Saturday at 10am in Tuscola.
Parkland College will be hosting a free hands-on career exploration workshop for high school students on Friday, September 27th from 9am - 12:30pm. This workshop will feature Parkland's Electrical Power, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Industrial Technology Programs. Stop by the guidance office for more information.
