The softball team got back in the win column with a commanding victory over the Oakwood Comets last night. Securing the win on the mound was sophomore Lindy Bates, with 3 strikeouts in two innings of work. Sophomore, Ava Fenter also helped adding 4 strikeouts in two innings. Both pitchers combined for the shutout victory. The rockets scored 16 runs on 10 hits, four of those were the long ball. Senior, Ashlyn Miller, Junior, Taylor Drennan, and Sophomores Chloey Duitsman and Sophia Beckett all went yard combining for 8 of the 16 runs. Also adding spark to the offense was Junior, Reagan Little, Sophomores Maegan Rothe and Lindy Bates all adding a hit and an RBI. Freshman, Shelby Smith also contributed her first Varsity hit and RBI in the win. The team has a two day break then will host Dundee-Crown on Thursday. Come out and support your Rockets on the turf.
Congrats to the Varsity and JV Baseball programs on their two wins yesterday.
The JV Rockets won in walk-off fashion over the Charleston Trojans, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Rockets used big hits by Tyler Henry, Dane Eisenmenger, Crew Eckstein, and Michael Bromley to key the 7th inning rally. The win keeps JV Rockets undefeated on the Spring.
The Varsity Baseball Rockets travelled to Vermillion County and put a whipping on the Bismark-Henning Blue Devils 17-10. The Rockets banged around Devil pitching to the tune of 15 hits on the day. Easton Cunningham, Brock Suding and Tre Hoggard were responsible for 8 of the 15 Rocket hits. The Varsity Rockets look to stay undefeated when they travel to Olympia on Thursday to battle the Spartans.
Congratulations to FFA Member Abby Woolcott for placing 2nd in the state for her Ag Sales project this past weekend.
